Company Profile

Jamboree was founded in 1994 and is today the No. 1 institute in India for training students on exams such as GMAT, GRE, SAT, TOEFL and IELTS. Jamboree has eight centres located in New Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh and Gurgaon. Jamboree trains close to 3000 students in its centres every year. Last year, Jamboree sent students to Stanford, Harvard, MIT, Cornell, UC Berkeley and ISB amongst other top Universities.

Jamboree students have scored some of the highest scores in the country including a 790 on GMAT, a 1600 on GRE and a 2400 on SAT. Jamboree is known for its excellent test prep techniques and counseling for admissions abroad.Jamboree’s founder and Director Ms. Akrita Kalra, had herself taken the SAT in 1990 and was admitted to Brown University. Family circumstance did not permit her to enroll. Instead she started coaching for SAT before venturing into GRE and GMAT in 1995.
Jamboree’s Managing Director is Vineet Gupta, an alumnus of IIT Delhi who also took the GMAT in 1991. The institute, known for its thorough research and professionalism is a one-stop shop for education abroad. Divided into three heads—Training, Admissions, and Visa, the institute makes the entire process of studying abroad—from preparing to actually joining a foreign university a smooth, hassle-free process.

Over twenty five thousand students have studied in Jamboree’s different centres so far. The loyalty the institute generates can be gauged from the fact that students who first enroll for SAT training later come back to study for GRE and GMAT. Two kinds of training programs are offered—classroom-based training and non-classroom, computer-based training (for working professionals). Facilities like library and computer lab are available at all working hours.

Jamboree defines a narrow syllabus band and guarantees nothing beyond that world be asked in the exam. Coupled with a chalked out study material by Education Testing Service (ETS), a US agency, Jamboree uses its own well researched material. It has devised an ‘Indian’ way of attacking these tests. Says Vineet “Indian students are usually stronger in mathematics as compared to English. Thus they tend to make common grammatical errors such as choosing ‘precious stone’ as an analogy for the word diamond. In popular American culture, diamond means a baseball pitch.” Similarly, whereas a three-year old American would know Kipper to mean breakfast, that word stumps students even at undergraduate level in India.
